Fire Spreads to Celing

            Union Fire Company, was dispatched mid-afternoon on Saturday September 03, 2011 along with first alarm assignments Winchester and Vigilant Fire Company’s for a reported structure fire in the 3400 block of Clinton Street.

            West Seneca Police arrived on location reporting smoke showing from the roof area, initial phone calls had reported a fire inside the structure that had spread to the ceiling area. Reserve FAST Team was also dispatched, but was subsequently held in quarters by the first arriving Union Chief.

            Crews from each of the departments checked for possible extensions in the ceiling area of an entrance way to the residential structure. Union Command, Union Fire Chief Jeff Warner, reported that the fire was out, with crews investigating further and ventilating smoke from the structure.

             2ND Assistant Chief Joe Kazmierski of Union relayed that the fire was believed to have been caused by electrical wires to a fan unit, combustibles in the area were also ignited. No damage estimate was given, West Seneca Fire Inspector was also on scene.
