IN WEST SENECA FIRE DISTRICT 2

Union Records New Annual Total – 800 EMS and Fire Calls

Each year Union Fire Company records increased call volume, having gone from totals in the low 500s in year 2000, a short period of fluctuation has been followed by a steady increase, with a new high in 2009 of 800 Emergency Medical (EMS) and Fire related incidents.

The bulk of this annual increase are EMS related incidents, with Union becoming familiar with days that would see their volunteers answer five, six, seven, or even eight Emergency Medical Service requests.

Union Fire Company is not alone in this scenario; most of the 6-West Seneca Fire Districts experienced varying degrees of an increase in call volume.
