Fire Prevention is a yearly favorite for Union Firefighters. Every Year, we instruct students at Northwood & Clinton Elementary, as well as St. Johns Preschool. This Year, our program reached over 700 Students.
Firefighter Phil Wzientek took charge, leading the instruction and covering important topics such as:
Lighter/Match safety
Smoke Detectors
Designating a Meeting Place in event of an Emergency in the Home
Dialing 911 in case of Emergencies
Firefighter Gear & Equipment
Stop, Drop & Roll (Yes, we even have a song)
After instructing these topics, students were given the opportunity to check out some of our Fire Apparatus. This year, we brought along Squad 5.
